Robb Douglass worked as an industrial chemist and a school master before starting work in IT in 1985 and later becoming a web page designer. He later set up what was to become one of the most extensive picture archive websites of the 1990 and 2000.
Robb's Celebs, a popular website featuring extensive galleries of mainly female celebrities. The site was online for over a decade, from before 1998 to 2008, gathering over 95 million visits by the time it closed.
He died on 25 April 2008 aged 58 from an allergic reaction to antibiotics taken for a chest infection. His death was widely reported on internet message boards. The Robbscelebs.co.uk website was taken offline shortly after.

Antonio Banderas, who were country level celebrities in their native Spain, were able to become global celebrities only after became Hollywood actors in English speaking films.
Another example of celebrity can be merely cultural or unique to a particular diaspora. Tehran Ghasri has a highly celebrated Iranian television program accessible by Iranian satellite. His program is mostly in Persian, restricting his viewers to those around the world who speak that language. Though his celebrity may be deemed worldwide it only reflects a small fraction of people.
